The Kashmir Hindu Foundation, Inc., proudly extends its heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Amrit Nehru, a founding member of the Foundation, for the successful establishment of the Zanskar Dental Clinic, a non-profit facility dedicated to providing essential dental care in the remote and underserved Zanskar region of Ladakh, Kashmir. This clinic has been established in loving memory of Dr. Sham L. Nehru, an ardent admirer of Ladakh and a highly respected Civil Surgeon who served the region during 1965-66. Dr. Sham L. Nehru’s dedication to public health and his compassionate service to the people of Ladakh remain an inspiration for generations. The vision for the Zanskar Dental Clinic was brought to fruition by Dr. Amrit Nehru and Mrs. Kalpana Nehru of Los Angeles, California, USA, whose personal financial contributions made the project possible. This initiative reflects Dr. Amrit Nehru’s lifelong commitment to humanitarian service, community health, and philanthropy. For decades, Dr. Amrit Nehru has been actively involved in numerous philanthropic efforts, both in the United States and in India. His work has focused on advancing healthcare access, education, and cultural preservation for marginalized communities, especially those from Kashmir and Ladakh.
