massive protest scooter rally was taken out by Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) Future of Gen-X Kashmiri Pandits from its Head Quarter, Muthi Jammu to Divisional Commissioner’s Office complex, Mubarak Mandi via Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner’s Office Canal Road, Jammu. The protest was registered to remind the Chief Minister to expedite action in the matter of memorandum submitted on July 5, 2009 at his private office, Srinagar, Kashmir. The demonstration was addressed by various Kashmiri Pandit leaders. The speakers ridiculed the State Govt’s apathy towards the displaced community especially the youth who have been neglected and made to suffer at the cost of their future. Addressing the gathering of protestors Pt. R.K. Bhat president YAIKS reiterated his stand that we shall wait to the conclusion of budget session and if the Govt. fails to redress our grievances, we shall move to other course and Govt. will be responsible for any consequences. Two things are very clear that the PM’s package is exclusively for the displaced Kashmiri Pandits youth as 12,500 employees retired on superannuation and the community youth were neglected from two long decades in the Govt. services. So getting 6,000 appointments with seven years age relaxation besides 9000 self help employment ventures from our quota in our constitutional, legal and ethical and right and in accordance with cannons of Natural justice. Others who spoke include Bal Krishan Bhat, Sunil Kaul, Manoj Handoo, J.L. Pandita, Sunil Dhar, Ramesh Bhat, Ajay Safaya, Bineth Jee, Rakesh Pandita, Ravinder Ji and Kuldeep Raina. A reminder to this effect was presented to Divisional Commissioner and Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner Jammu for onward transmission to Chief Minister, Civil Secretariat Srinagar. |
