| Omkar Nath Shastri, Editor “Vijeyshwar Panchang” in a press conference held here today has said that the fundamental source of India civilization is Veda and Jyotish occupies a position of prominence in Vedas. The Shastras State: Prathikhsham Jyotisham Shastram Means It is possible that various Shastras may be interpreted in different ways but there is no such possibility in the case of Jyotish, the proof being the precise prediction of the timing of solar and lunar eclipses and the course traversed by a planet is fixed but there is possibility of change in the curvature of the course adopted by a planet which is called Vakri Gati. However, no such change is observed in the case of sun and moon. India is the land of the birth of Jyotish and Jyotish is based on Vigyana. The close observation of the planetary position in the year 2012 show that there is no possibility of the Mahapralyai.e.total destruction of the universe in that year contrary to the statements of certain Astrologists. |
