Distressed family of an Assistant Sub Inspector of Police, Maharaj Krishen Koul who went missing a month back from Udhampur, today sought Chief Minister Umar Abdullah's intervention in ascertaining his whereabouts by ordering CBI probe into the matter.
Addressing media persons in a press conference here on Wednesday, Wife of missing cop, Ratna Koul said that the Police department made no efforts in ascertaining the whereabouts of the police official posted at Railway station Udhampur who went missing on December 28, 2009.
She said that they lodged a missing report of Maharaj Krishen at Railway Police station Jammu on 31-12-2009 but no measures where taken by the police in tracing the missing officer.
She said that they approached the higher police authorities for seeking their help but they turned deaf ear towards their requests and as a result of which the missing cop is still untraceable even after the passage of one month.
"My husband went missing when he was on duty and it is the responsibility of government to trace him out," she said and added that on that particular day he was deputed to head office Jammu to collect uniforms.
