Toronto Rally in support of Amarnath by Hari Kaul |
|
Kashmiri Overseas Association of Canada staged a peaceful demonstration to raise awareness for unjust treatment of Kashmiri Hindus pilgrims of Amarnath in Jammu & Kashmir and our support to Jammu people. You will be proud to know that on Saturday August 30, 2008 between 11 AM to 1:30 PM more than 200 Kashmiri Pandits, men, women and children of Greater Toronto Area took part in a very successful demonstration in front of the Indian Consulate in Toronto. We all had a great fun and entertainment. Each and every one of us was holding Indian and Canadian flags, wearing orange head bands. We were waving flags, singing patriotic songs and slogans and in process invented some new slogans also. Mr. Ajit Jain, resident editor of India abroad, CITY TV from Toronto and many others covered our event. You will also be delighted to know that your own brothers and sisters from Toronto hijacked, defeated and humiliated FRIENDS OF KASHMIR ( KM separatist organization in Toronto) planned demonstration. Although KM separatist were supposed to hold their demonstration at the same venue between 1 PM to 4:30 PM. Seeing us there ahead of them they were totally shocked, stunned, humiliated and defeated. Mr. Farooq Papa and Mr Mushtaq Geelani of JKLF along with 30-35 other Muslims chose to delay their demonstration till we finished our own demonstration at 1:45 PM( We had police permit to hold demonstrations between from 11 AM to 1 PM). We also waited for them to show our strength. They never expected us inthere and that too in huge numbers . By 2:30 they lost all their steam and emotions and By 3:30 they were gone. For ten minutes we waved our flags and banners on them and hijacked their slogans with our own slogans and then we dispersed quietly. In addition some of us chose to have a car procession around the venue and humiliate them further by honking , shouting slogans and waving Indian Tricolour on them. It was scene to watch. All your brothers, sisters (Kids, young and Seniors) from Toronto, Canada are emotionally high and feel the sense of pride, achievement and success |
