Foundation stone laid of Sharda Temple & Centre

After reclaiming the land of ancient Dharmshala that used to exist during 1947-48, foundation laying ceremony of Sharda Yatra Base Camp temple & Centre (annual Sharda Yatra to Sharda peeth POK upto 1948 called Charri Mubarak), at LoC Teetwal was held today. The programme was arranged by Save Sharda Committee Kashmir Regd. Under the aegis of ‘Sharda Yatra Temple Committee Teetwal’ at 10:30 AM. Around 200 locals from all faiths took part in this event. The event was organized under the supervision of Ravinder Pandita Head of Save Sharda Committee and team members alongwith locals of Tangdhar & Teetwal. The immersion of Puja sacred water was immersed in sacred Kishenganga river on LoC White line bridge that is manned together by Indian & Pakistan army. About 10 supporters of Sharda mission from across LoC also came to greet Sh. Ravinder Pandita, head of Save Sharda committee. The event was well managed by local members of civil society in tandem with Indian army.
Dr. Darkhshan Andrabi, Chairperson Waqf Development Committee of Union Ministry of Minorities affairs & BJP National Executive Member was the Chief guest. She stressed the need of reviving Sharda Civilization and laid emphasis on exploration of same. She demanded that govt. should set up a Sharda Centre and also a Sharda University. She said it is a historical site that has been reclaimed by the efforts of Save Sharda Committee that intends to bring back the glory of this lost site. Save Sharda committee kashmir regd demanded cross LoC heritage and Religious tourism to begin earnestly. LoC Teetwal was a traditional route of pilgrimage to Sharda peeth which was last stopped in 1948 after tribal raids and partition. Ever since no such yatra has taken place. The Committee comprising of Civil society of Tangdhar Karnah & other parts of JK UT is actively engaged for recreating this ancient heritage. This time too the celebrations were led by Ravinder Pandita Founder of Save Sharda Committee Kashmir Regd. that is struggling for cross LoC pilgrimages for nearly 2 decades. Ravinder Pandita |
