Samohik Yagnopavit Annual Function felicitates Bhalla, others Jammu (India) October 5, 2009 |

he Amar Balidan Trust (ABT) today organised an impressive function at Durga Nagar wherein 15 Kashmiri Pandit boys were solemnized by Sanmohik Yagnopavit. The Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla was the chief guest on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Bhalla said that such type of religious and social functions can bring a change in the society. He said that the trust is helping the needy KPs families by arranging marriages of daughters of those who are not able to make huge expenditure on such arrangements. Earlier, Bhalla was felicitated by the Chairman President Amar Balidan Trust A. N. Vashnavi. A deputation of KPs met the Minister and projected the problems including allotment of two kanal of land for community hall, hawan-shalla, construction of bathing ghat along river Tawi, accommodation of two-room with kitchen and bathroom facilities. He gave patient hearing to them and assured their redressal at the earliest. Among others, Relief Commissioner, Relief (M) Vinod Koul, Vijay Bakeya, MLC President Amar Balidain Trust H. L. Chatta, Vice President Amar Balidain Trust, Ravinder Raina Advocate and Kashmiri Pandits in large numbers were also present on the occasion. Every year the trust is arranging such great community religious functions and so far the Trust has soleminized Yagnopavit of about 2000 Kashmiri Pandit boys. This has saved the community brothers from huge expenditure being spent in such solemnizations. The trust is also helping needy KP persons for marriage ceremonies of their daughters. This year seven girls have been helped accordingly, it said. |
