I am immensely pleased to know that the viewership age around 30years of age has gone up. Your effort in taking out issues of SHEHJAR for past several years is commendable. My observation is our community members, in majority are only busy in focusing on Economic growth. No doubt it is not essential only it is imperative. But does our aim remain confined to that only. An effort initiated by you and several organizations is apparently focusing on creating awareness of our culture, propagating trditions and thus helping youngsters to remain abreast with our ethenic identity. This was essential to keep our values alive for certain period. With migrated older aged people of our community leaving this materialistic world, a new generation has come up which has partial connection with the land of our origin. Not to be blamed, there priority is economic development. What should every Kashmiri pandit bother is Regain of our paradise our homeland. Politics and aspiration for power is ingrained in humans and kashmiri pandit cannoy be an exception. But a common cause of Repossession of our home land unless aimed at all our individual and collective achievements have no value. As the young readership has gone up why our young children are not utilizing their wisdom in taking up administrative services. Genetically they are superior and if they can top in medical or enggm enterences then why donot they enter into administrative services. IAS. KAS. Through these two systems they can have reasonably good financial strength and can ebter in to administrative control of state machinery. Remember pre independence or even after that, all the vital administrative control was with Pandits. Today current generation is busy in settling down economically but 15 -20 years after their feeling for homeland can come up. With money they can go spend a month, enjoy, spend money and make local kashmiri rich and return. What contribution they will give for posterity and what we are giving.
My appeal is to even those organisations who are funding education they must prompt youth for administrative service and for all of us we must strategise to recapture our Kashmir- the land of our origin. Best Regards, S.K. Munshi, Chandigarh-India |

Dear Editor,
Please find below article previously published by the Shehjar. It has been reproduced on facebook, without acknowledging the name of the author--myself Dr. Chaman Lal Raina or Shehjar. This is my original work on the NANDKESHWARA-the Shiva Incarnate published in Shehjar at: http://www.shehjar.com/list/20/147/1.html. I think, if such plagiarism and counterfeiting is unchecked, then it will be hard for the original authors to subscribe to the community journals. I would have appreciated, if the person, who did this could have written a critical appreciation, on this work. |
