Purnima Handoo 1951-2010 ![]() ![]() |
Purnima Handoo (Sharma) born on 20th June 1951 in (Banamohalla, Narpirastan Srinagar) , a lady of great height, born leader, commanding and epitome of love, care and peace. She was always having the smile on her face and a grin was out of her dictionary. I have never seen grin on her face. She did her B.E.D from Kashmir University and was in education line as science teacher since 1974 and retired as headmistress. She was married to Mr A. K Handoo (karan nagar ,Srinagar) Purnima Handoo (Sharma) was very softhearted, religious and pious soul. She was always ready to help others and cooking and serving food to anybody was her hobby. She was an expert in everything and proved the proverb “Jack of all trades and master of none wrong “ for her she was “ Jack of all trades and master of those trades too”. She always used to give top most priorities to studies and always used to say me books are your best friends and companions. She was suffering from Rhemeutide Arthritis since 1977 but that did not let her hamper her day to day activities. She was always active to the core and did not let anybody feel about her weakness. She was so much disciplined in her life time that even though she suffered from Diabetes from over a decade she never got tempted to sugar and sugar products. She had such a will power that even after first attack of Brain stroke she overcame it very fast and started her day to day routine in very normal manner. It was a real surprise to all the doctors attending her. But after her second brain stroke her health started deteriorating slowly and with that her will power. She left us all alone and left on her heavenly abode on 3rd April 2010. The vacuum that is created in our life with her loss can never me filled, but her life shows us the path to take forward. Even though she is not physically present but I feel her in everything around me. May God give her Peace. Sunanda Handoo |
