Pass Temples and Shrines Bill-AIKS
Jammu, India, september 04, 2011 |
ispelling the notions being created by the government that the recent employment of few youths is the starting point of the return of the community, President All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS), Pt. Moti Kaul, in a Press Conference today, said that such expressions from the government are unfortunate. The employment to our youths which have been denied to us for last twenty two years is our right and it has no link and meaning whatsoever with the return, he said.
Before we talk of return we stand for setting up of truth finding enquiry commission chaired by retired judge of the Supreme Court to bring to the world the conditions and the circumstances that led to tragic exodus During the deliberations in the Apex meeting all the Pandit representatives unanimously demanded passing of Kashmiri Hindu Temples and Shrines Bill in the Legislative Assembly as they constitute the only living civilization symbols of KPs. Pt. Kaul also said that Kashmiri Pandits being a religious minority in Kashmir should be politically empowered without which their survival is not possible. Giving strong signal to the Central as well as the State governments Pt. Moti Kaul said that reports are there that the interlocutors have recommended Pre 53 status to Jammu & Kashmir State and such a recommendation will be disastrous for both the state and the country as a whole. There is no issue other than addressing the legitimate aspirations of the exiled community. Appeasement policy cannot be tolerated at all. Kashmiri Pandits will not allow Jammu & Kashmir to loose its knot with India which is absolute and final. In the Apex Committee meeting with the government Mr. Kaul presented the concerns of the displaced community and reminded the government to address short term measures that can give some confidence to the beleaguered community. In this regard he emphasized on the following issues:
Mr. Kaul concluded by saying that there is a huge trust deficit between the government and the community in terms of addressing their concerns. "The ball is in their court now", he said. Dr. Usha Tickoo convener women wing and Aryan Ramesh Secretary AIKS Jammu also spoke in the press Conference |
