Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shiv Raj Singh Chauhan has ridiculed the Justice Sagir Ahmed report saying it has strengthened the hands of anti-national elements in the state even as he assured his full support to Pandits for a separate Homeland in Kashmir.
Chauhan was addressing Kashmiri Pandits during Homeland Day celebrations and felicitation function organized by Panun Kashmir in Jammu on Sunday. Chouhan also condemned the report on State-centre relations and termed it an anti-people and against the interest of people of Jammu and Ladakh facing discrimination at the hands of Kashmir leaders from past many years. People in our state will protest against the report as it is against the interests of the nationalist people, who have kept the flag of nation high despite threats, MP Chief Minister said. MP Chief Minister said that people of MP will continue to support the demand of Kashmiri Pandits for carving out separate Homeland in Kashmir valley. He said that State Assembly in Madhya Pradesh has already passed a resolution endorsing the demand of KP for separate homeland in valley. It is the only solution for the rehabilitation of displaced Pandits in their land so that agony of past two decades could end, Chauhan said. He also lashed out at UPA government for its weak policy against the terrorists and succumbing before their pressure. Central Government has so far spent Rs 20 crore for Ajmal Kasab, accused in Mumbai attacks, but those who have suffered at the hands of militants have been given raw deal. Speaking on the occasion Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Uma Shankar Gupta said that it was due to the policy followed by Jawahar Lal Nehru that Kashmir has become an international issue. He blamed Jawahar Lal Nehru for the present crisis over Kashmir adding present Government was also following the same policy. PK convener, Dr Agnishekhar while speaking said that central and state government was totally working against the nationalist forces of the state and is appeasing the anti-national elements in the state. "Quiet Diplomacy is not acceptable to us as it is against the national interests. We want that UPA government should open its card over the issue", he said adding that the way nationalists people have been isolated from this Quiet Diplomacy will send a wrong signal among the people who are suffering due to militancy. The occasion of Homeland Day earned extra-ordinary significance due to the felicitation ceremony of the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shri Shiv Raj Singh Chowhan and Home Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shri Uma Shankar Gupta. Shri Prabhat Jha, the national secretary, and Pof B.J.P accompanying the chief minister. The delegate's session started at 11am with the flag hoisting ceremony followed by the holocaust Dhun and the deliberation, the session of which was opened by Dr. Agnishekhar who dwelt at length on issues concerning Kashmiri Pandits with reference to the political scenarios and the recent developments in the state. He threw light on the varied important politico -social matters. The recommendations of the working group headed by Justice Sagir Ahmed (Ret) were outright opposed and rejected ab-initio terming it as anti Kashmiri Pandits, anti nationalist forces and a retrograde step to drag Kashmir Situation to mess and confusion. Prof. R.L Bhatt spoke on emerging political scenarios of the state. Mr. Shiban Khaibri spoke on the Cultural genocide of Kashmiri Pandits and distortion of History. Sh. Sanjay Raina threw light on organizations aspect of the movement. Mr. Ramesh Manvati spoke on the deleterious results of the ongoing Quiet Diplomacy and the role of media in putting J&K situation in right perspective before the world. The session concluded with the recitation of Panun Kashmir's anthem followed by second session started with musical performances by eminent artists like Ms. Naina Saproo, Ms. Deepali Wattal, Mr. Veer Koul Vir and Mr. Dilip Langoo which enthralled the audience. Another special feature included the releasing of Special Ringtone dedicated to the Goddess Sharda, the music of which was dedicated by Mr. Kuldeep Saproo. On this occasion a specially made PK cap was also released and was presented to the visiting dignitaries including the CM & HM from Madhya Pradesh. Prof. M.K.Raina presented the Jammu Declaration. The delegate session of Panun Kashmir also passed a resolution and issued a Jammu Declaration in which several demands like taking Pandits into confidence on every decision regarding Kashmir, opening dialogue with the people of Jammu, Ladakh and Kashmir Pandits, initiating dialogue for carving out a separate Homeland for KPs etec were put forth. BJP National secretary Prabhat Jha, A N Vaishnavi, president ASKPC and senior functionaries of Panun Kashmir were also present in the convention of Panun Kashmir. |
