NEED OF THE HOUR

The Crisis in my country
So wide it has spread,
All those who loved its pageantry,
Its people, now they dread.

Symbolically, the �Golden Sparrow�,
Of the distant past,
Is now engulfed in sorrow
One ponders how long it will last.

People have lost their bearings and reasons,
Blinded they are by anger and agony,
They indulge in violence and treason
And Murders they have committed many.

People once credited with magnanimity,
Peace-loving nature and unbound mettle,
Against their own people they now force enmity
And find lot of scores to settle.

Why to drag bitter, if any, in
It will only embitter the present and future,
And make lives insecure and interwoven in chagrin,
Sealing our fate in the dungeons of earth, clear?

The sky to freedom, peace and eternity
Is to shed malice and sweeten our relations sour,
And rise unitedly to the occasion
Which precisely is the need of the hour.
