| National Seminar on ‘Vakh and Vacana New Delhi, March 4, 2013 |
The Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) is organizing a two day National Seminar on ‘Vakh and Vacana: the Pearls of Wisdom’ on 4th and 5th of March, 2013, alongwith cultural performances based on these traditions. The Seminar will be exploratory in nature, in which scholars from both the traditions will reflect on the various aspects of Kashmiri Lalvakh and Kannada Vacanas.Performances will include Vakh recitation / singing in Kashmiri by Ms. Sushma Kalla, Vacana recitation / singing in Hindustani style by Ms. Neela Kodli Ms. Anjali Kaul through her rhythmic movements will present the mystic journey of Lal-Ded based on singing of Lal-Vakhs by Ms. Sushma Kalla, followed by Bharatnatyam performance on Vacanas by Dr. Vasundhara Doraswami & troupe, based on Dr. R. N. Shrilata’s singing of the Vacanas in Carnatic style. |
