ational Conference has a historical character and party has fought from its inception for upkeep of secular values in the State by defeating the designs of communalist elements and detractors of peace. It was with the historical role of the party under the towering personality of Late Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah that the designs of invaders were defeated in 1947 who tried to pollute the secular character of the state and it was due to these cherished values that Gandhi Ji saw a ray of hope only in Kashmir when sub-continent was burning. The microscopic minority of Kashmiri Pandits who has also made a tremendous contribution for the prosperity of State has always been provided equal opportunity in all spheres of life and governance by Late Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah and then by Dr. Farooq Abdullah by giving a representation to community in State Cabinet to mention a few late Sham Lal Saraf, Mohan Krishan Tickoo, P.L. Handoo requested the community in the Govts. Of Sheikh Abdullah and Dr. Farooq Abdullah respectively. Now we hope that Omar Abdullah a young and dynamic Chief Minister will keep this tradition alive by giving a due representation to the community in state cabinet. This commitment was also endorsed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah time and again. So this minority community makes a humble appeal to National conference high command to fulfill its commitment by inducting Mr. Bakaya in Cabinet, so that no mistrust in created between Kashmiri Pandit community and the party. |
