Report & images by Raman Raina Holding Jammu and Kashmir Nationalist Movement(JKNM) has released the report of review committee on package for Relief and rehabilitation of victims of Kashmir militancy by the Prime Minister at Akhnoor in 2008. Divulging the report in a press conference here on Saturday, the leaders of JKNM while appreciating the concern shown by the Prime Minister for the rehabilitation of the displaced community said that the Review Committee has underscored some inadequacies in the package which needed to be made up. They said that the package didn't address the issue of return, rehabilitation and retention of the community in the valley as an integral and inclusive factor of Kashmiri civil society enjoying civil, political and human rights unviversally. They further said that the package didn't recognize the need, importance and usefulness of compact and inclusive rehabilitation of the displaced families in the valley. They demanded township of inclusive character and contours in the valley as a viable formula for the rehabilitation and retention of displaced persons. |
