United Nations Human Rights Council is an inter-governmental body within the United Nations system made up of 47 States responsible for the promotion and protection of all human rights around the globe. It meets at the UN Office at Geneva. The Council was created by the United Nations General Assembly on 15 March 2006
The purpose was to promote and protect human rights worldwide and be responsive to the needs of victims of rights violations, cast a light on the activities of the Council, hold its members accountable for their actions and advance compliance with its objective of addressing “situations of violations of human rights, including gross and systematic violations” around the world.
China
Unfortunately this noble organization has been turned into another political tool of leftists and Marxists who will not say a word about atrocities on Tibetans whose basic civil and social rights have been stripped by China. The human rights violations in Tibet include arbitrary arrest, detention, torture, denial of freedom of speech and expression, religion and belief. Chinese army invaded and occupied Tibet in 1950. A cultural genocide was inflicted upon the Tibetan people.

According to tibettruth.com, Inflamed by the ideology of Marxism the Chinese tyranny saw its colonialism of Tibet as a progressive stage in the evolution from a supposed feudalism, of what it insisted was a stagnant culture. In Marxist language Tibetans were “relics of peoples” undeserving of national freedom, incapable of economic or political independence. Tibet was, under such ‘reasoning’, a valid target to be refashioned.
The methodology employed to assist Tibetans realize such a political consciousness included: forced labor camps, mass arrests, torture, destruction of Tibetan monasteries and a mass population transfer of Han Chinese into Tibet! The poisonous cocktail of Marxist-Leninist doctrine with China’s traditional assimilationist ideology continues to terrorize the Tibetan people. Their culture having suffered the ravages of scorched earth and a nuclear-like assault is being redefined according to the political objective of China’s regime.

There is no Dalai Lama, no history other than the one fabricated by the Chinese regime. It’s a ‘new Tibet’ which is taught, with a doctrine that asserts before Tibet was ‘liberated’ existed only cruelty, exploitation and slavery. Now, thanks to the ‘enlightened’ policies of China’s government, Tibetans enjoy the modernity and progress of a socialist paradise.
China has assiduously destroyed Tibet’s past, brutally controlling its present and attempting to possess its future! But these so called guardians of human rights don’t speak a word because China is strong and powerful. They bow before the powerful. What a shame!
USA
Only the Trump administration had the spine to call a spade a spade when United States ambassador to the United Nations blasted them “The council must end its practice of wrongly singling out Israel for criticism. When the council passes more than 70 resolutions against Israel, a country with a strong human rights record, and just 7 resolutions against Iran, a country with an abysmal human rights record, you know something is seriously wrong.”
Nikki Haley had fired back at the council in a statement: “Once again, the United Nations shows its hypocrisy by calling out the United States while it ignores the reprehensible human rights records of several members of its own Human Rights Council.”
Many of the council’s member states are among the worst abusers of human rights. Among the council’s membership are 14 nations — Afghanistan, Angola, Burundi, China, Cuba, Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iraq, Qatar, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, and Venezuela.
Pakistan
What a travesty when Pakistan was elected to the council despite being publicly chastened by the same council over human-rights violations. Pakistan record as a Terrorist training state and Pakistani forces engaging in massive killings of Baloch nationals and human right violations is well known.
Balochistan
As per the Information from Sandeep Goswami, Independent media is not having access to the whole region of Balochistan as it is tightly controlled through Army and Police. Foreign media persons are denied access or they are manhandled by police if they some how ventured into that region Situation of local media is even worse than others as reporters are threatened from almost every side: the secret services, the Baloch movement. Reporters go missing and their mutilated bodies are unidentifiable even for their relatives . So most of local media have self-imposed censorship on them for survival.So situation is quite grim and very few news tickle down.
The Frontier Corps, the anti-Shia group Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency and other groups have been accused of "a decade-long campaign" of "pick up and dump" in which "Baloch nationalists, militants or even innocent bystanders are picked up, disappeared, tortured, mutilated and then killed".
In the period 2003 to 2012, it is estimated that 8000 people were abducted by Pakistani security forces in Balochistan. In 2008 alone, an estimated 1102 Baloch people disappeared. In July 2011, the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan issued a report on illegal disappearances in Balochistan which identified ISI and Frontier Corps as the perpetrators. According to journalist Malik Siraj Akbar, as of May 2015, "dozens of people are losing their lives every day" in "extra judicial killings committed by the Pakistani security forces" in the province of Balochistan.
Kashmir
Terrorism is a human rights issue because it involves deliberate attacks on innocent civilians causing death, serious injury or ethnic cleansing. The Human rights council had not much to say on recent gruesome terrorist killings of non-muslims in Kashmir that included a pharmacy businessman M.L. Bindroo, a poor street food vendor Virender Paswan and two teachers -- Deepak Chand Mehra and Supinder Kaur. This was a systematic religious based killings to instill fear in Non Muslims in Kashmir Valley.
Isn’t it Laughable when this same watchdog group and International biased media gets alarmed when Khurram Parvez is detained under several sections of India’s anti-terror law, the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.
the U.N. special rapporteur on human rights defenders, Mary Lawlor, wrote “He is not a terrorist, he is a human rights defender,” while Amnesty International said Parvez’s arrest “is yet another example of how anti-terror laws are being misused to criminalize human rights work & stifle dissent in India.” Human rights activist Angana Chatterji, an anthropologist at University of California, Berkeley, called the charges leveled against Parvez “baseless.” Prominent news agencies and media like Washington Post, Reuters, Voice of America, ABC etc highlight and are outraged over a mere arrest of a suspect and remain silent when innocent Hindu are killed by terrorists. What a hypocrisy?
How can we sit quietly while this body, supposedly dedicated to human rights, continues to damage the cause of human rights?
