Report and Images by Raman Raina Appreciating the recently organized peaceful dharna by KP youths at Purkhu Camp, the Joint Action Committee of Migrants has put-forth its demands before the Government, which also include implementation of the employment package as announced by PM for KP Youth. The Committee decided to continue the dharna till the Govt. accepts all the genuine demands of the community including implementation of employment package. The meeting observed that many packages have been announced by Govt. but same have not been implemented. Prime Minister of India too announced a package for employment of KP youths and till date no package has been implemented. ‘We demand immediate implementation of employment package announced by the Central Government, said the meeting. as well as State Govt. Addressing the meeting Convener Joint Action Committee Migrant Camps Bushan lal Raina demanded enhancement of monthly relief from 4000 to 10,000 per month. The monthly relief of Rs. 4000 is too meager to enable a family to survive especially when the prices of eatables have risen too much. One time compensation to educated youths who have crossed prescribed age limits for Govt. service. Since 1990 educated youths who are now overage have suffered much future seems bloated for them so to enable them to start their own business they should be paid one time compensation of Rs. 25 lacs. |
