Weak policies strengthen Separatist Forces in State: PK
 JAMMU, AUG 16: Panun Kashmir in a meeting chaired by Dr Agnishekhar took strong note of the address of Prime Minister of India where in he virtually offered "all the political initiative to separatist and secessionist forces", saying that Prime Minister's offer of grant of greater Autonomy to J&K is tantamount to allow the state to secede from India eventually. He said that Panun Kashmir rejects and deplores the weak kneed policy of GOI which has resulted in strengthening of Muslim separatism in the state of J&K, adding that the policy of the present day govt. seems to make ground fertile for anti- national and separatist forces for achieving the broader objectives of disintegration of India. He said that such statements of P.M will ultimately pave the way for the balkanization of the country ignoring the nationalist forces of state, people of Jammu, Ladakh and Kashmiri Pandits in particular who are the worst sufferers of Pan-Islamic terrorism, genocide, religious-apartheid and exclusions in J&K state.He informed that Panun Kashmir is organizing a peace rally in Jammu on the gates of Rajbhavan on August 18 to express their resolve regarding their geo political demand. |

KPC reacts to PM’s Autonomy-remark JAMMU, AUG 12: Accusing the Government of weak stand over Kashmir, Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) on Thursday said that reacted strongly to Prime Minister's remark on possible autonomy to J&K and dilution of AFSPA.
Addressing a meeting here on Thursday, National President KPC- Kundan Kashmiri said that pusillanimous and weak stand on Kashmir and succumbing under propaganda and violence unleashed by Separatists, Pseudo-Secularists and Pro Pak agents in the valley, under great conspiracy, has exposed the will and determination of Centre Govt.to counteract the nefarious design of these forces. He said that the surrender before these separatists and Pseudo Secularists forces by the Centre has anguished and demoralized the Nationalist forces of the Country in general and Kashmiri Pandits in particular. He said that Kashmiri Pandit community rejects autonomy, self rule as well as annexation of Kashmir with Pakistan and termed the accession of Kashmir with India full and final. Opposing to any major dilution or phase withdrawal of AFSPA from J&K, Kundan Kashmiri said that such step will impinge adversely on the manner in which armed forces operate in J&K. He further stated that any decision on Kashmir without the involvement of KP's will be futile exercise and would not yield any result . The meeting demanded "Kashyap Homeland "for KP's and acceptance of Fifteen point chartered of demand submitted by the K.P.C to the Govt. PK organizes Seminar on Prevailing Kashmir Situation JAMMU, AUG 08: Panun Kashmir on Sunday organized a seminar on " making sense of what is happening in Kashmir" in which eminent personalities threw light on the topic.
Former Director General of Police- M.M. Khajuria said that the " Quit Jammu and Kashmir" call given by Tehrik-e Hurriyat Chief Syed Ali Shah Geelani amidst the ongoing disturbances in Kashmir, exposed the political dimension of the conspiracy hatched by Pak establishment and its local collaborators. He said that the vicious slogan deserved to be dismissed as a gimmick of prank but for the fact that the extremist fringe were holding the sizable section of the population in the valley to ransom and causing severe dislocation of economic, social and political life. Professor Hari Om while speaking on the occasion was categorical in asserting that " in fact, it is the Indian state which is sustaining the ongoing strife in Kashmir valley." He pointed out that the statements of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on Aug 6, in the Rajya Sabha is nothing but a blend of contradictions and that instead of assuring the House of Elders that New Delhi will change its strategy in the changed circumstances to convert the pernicious influence of Pakistan and defeat its evil designs on Kashmir. Chairman Panun Kashmir Ajay Chrangoo said that it was the time for the entire nation to recognize the extremely regressive content of the movement which is holding whole of Kashmir valley in its grip. He said that it was time that whole nation delegitimize the public mobilizations in the valley by emphatically stating that the in Kashmir is basically driven by an ideological content which negates the freedom of mankind, breeds hatred and aims to destroy pluralism based on right to equality. He urged upon the centre and state Governments to take care of the minorities living in valley. Dr. M.K Teng also spoke on the occasion. |
KPs term Farooq's Autonomy Statement as absurd  JAMMU, AUG 04: Expressing concern over the deteriorating situation in Kashmir, Kashmiri Pandits have described the recent autonomy demand of former Chief Minister of State Dr. Farooq Abdullah as absurd.The Joint Forum of frontal Kashmiri Pandit organizations in a meeting held today to discuss the statements issued by Dr. Farooq Abdullah in connection with the present strife in the valley of Kashmir, the participants said that such a statement at this time was not the need of the hour. The members expressed surprise and dismay at the statements of Abdullah that the Centre should hold talks for grant of autonomy to the state of Jammu and Kashmir in view of the current strife in the valley. "It is highly surprising at a time when the government is trying to control the situation in Kashmir, Dr. Abdullah has chosen to open a new front," they said and added that he has done so when he is holding a responsible position in the Central Cabinet. The members were unanimous that any arrangement that takes away Kashmir from the constitutional organisation of India is fraught with dangerous consequences. The meeting was among others attended by A.N.Vaishnavi, President-ASKPC, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President, Panun Kashmir, H.L.Chatta, General Secreatry-ASKPC, Virender Raina, National Spokesperson and D.N. Kissu, President, ANMCC. The Joint Front conveyed its greetings to Dr. Chetna Vaishnavi who has been chosen as the personality of the year by Dainik Bhasker group. |

KPC TEAM VISITS MIGRANT CAMPS, DEMANDS RELIEF FOR FLOOD VICTIMS JAMMU, AUG 20: Kashmiri Pandit Conference ( KPC) has demanded immediate relief for the flood victims of Purkhoo and Mishriwala migrant camps. A team of KPC, comprising of State President - Satish Pajnoo, General Secretary- P.N. Pandit, B.L. Thaploo, J.L. Pandita and others visited the migrant camps to take stock of the situation created by the heavy rains during the intervening night of Aug 18 and 19. They said that hundreds of migrant families suffered huge losses at Mishriwala and Purkhoo migrant camps due to flood triggered by heavy rains. The team observed that all tall claims of Government about the provision of facilities to camp inmates fall flat, which can well be assessed by the fact that more than hundred one room tenements at Mishriwala and about 30 tenements at Purkhoo migrant camps submerged in water after a single heavy spell of rain. They later on met Relief commissioner and apprised him about the situation of both the camps and urged upon him to take action in this regard. They urged upon the Government to assess the losses immediately and provide the relief to victims accordingly. |

Joint Forum of KPs to launch nation-wide campaign against happenings in Kashmir  JAMMU ,Aug 21: The Joint Forum of Kashmiri Pandit Organizations today expressed serious concern over the developments in the Valley particularly in the context of Government offering proposals that have already been rejected.Euphoria is being created in the minds of certain section of population in the Kashmir Valley by making false promises and offering rejected proposals, Forum senior member and ASKPC chief, A N Vaishnavi told reporters here today.He said time has come to enunciate categorically the position of the nation that J&K State is an inalienable part of India and no body has the mandate to negotiate the issues relating to sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.He said the Kashmir is a national issue and as such all the nationalist forces need to rally behind the people of J&K who are engaged in protecting the interests of the nation in the State. The displaced Kashmiri Pandits community has been in the forefront of this struggle and would continue to fight its battle with the support of all the nationalist people across the country, he added. The Forum has decided to form a group that would visit various places in the country to apprise the people about the happenings in Kashmir, said Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo its another leader and president Panun Kashmir. The group would represent KP opinion in a comprehensive manner and it would comprise people from across the spectrum of KP active groups, intellectuals and leading activists, he added.He said a political conference to debate the issue relating to KP diaspora would be organized at Jammu on October 3. It will be preceded by workers convention of all representative groups by the end of this month, he added.Expressing concern over the problems being faced by the members of the community especially those living in Mishriwala and Purkhoo camps who were hit by flash floods, another leader of the Forum and ASKPC general secretary, H L Chatta, has appealed the Government to come to their rescue immediately by providing necessary help and assistance to them. This should be done in same promptness with which the Government deals these type of calamities in Kashmir Valley, he added.Virender Raina national spokesperson PK and D N Kissu, chairman, Non Camp Migrants Coordination Committee were also present in press conference. |
PK to organize March to Prime Minister's Office  JAMMU, AUG 23: Panun Kashmir is going to organize a March to Prime Minister's office on Sept 12, 2010 in connection with the observance of the Martyrs' Day at Delhi.Talking to media persons here today, Kuldeep Raina, general secretary, Panun Kashmir said, "PK is to pay tributes to the martyrs who lost their lives upholding sovereignty, integrity and values of the nation going to organize exhibition-'Sakshaatkaar' in Jammu". "Sakshaatkaar is best tribute to the martyrs as it is a fact sheet of vandalism and genocidal campaign perpetuated in Kashmir'", he said, adding, the exhibition will start on 5th September 2010 and will culminate in shape of a rally on 14th September 2010 Martyrs' Day'. He condemned the recent anti-national activities in Jammu and Delhi and disapproves all those acts aimed at bailing out the terrorists and anti-national elements. He appealed to all the nationalist forces including Kashmiri Pandits in any profession not to indulge in any such activity that exonerates the terrorist and communal forces who are hell bent to destroy the national sovereignty and pluralistic structure of the country. Panun Kashmir leader also reiterated the demand of de-linking Prime Minister's Employment package at the earliest and appointment and adjustment of these candidates in Jammu migrant offices as the situation even demands shifting of the community employees from Valley who are unable to perform their duties in the given situation. Concerning over losses in Mishriwala and Purkho camps due to intense rain, Panun Kashmir (PK) has demanded interim relief package for the victims at the earlest. AIKS Delegation calls on NSA to highlight problems  NEW DELHI, AUG 24: An AIKS delegation led by its President Moti Kaul called on Shri Shiv Shankar Menon, National Security here today to apprise him about the prevailing Kashmir situation and the problems confronted to KP community members.The delegation comprised of Vijay Aima , Dr. Romesh Raina, Sanjay Wali discussed the situation at length. They apprised Menon that Kashmir is a testing ground for Indian Secularism and democracy. Return, restitution and retention of Kashmiri Pandits, as a concentrated group in Kashmir, is the litmus test of the will and sincerity of the Indian government and the State administration. They also said that Kashmir problem cannot find a durable solution unless Kashmiri Pandits, the pristine and indigenous representatives of a 5000-year-old culture and civilization of Kashmir are part of the negotiations and dialogues as equal stake holders. They said that Pandits are a religious minority in Kashmir and their return and survival as a distinct ethnic minority is not possible, unless they are Politically Empowered, adding that they have been the victims of violations against all their right and even the right to life, which is the most fundamental of all human rights. They said that the thought of re-evaluation of political relations between state and the centre, despite state enjoying the maximum autonomy within Indian constitution is like putting the clock back. |
PK Foundation constitutes 11 member Committee Jammu, August 27: Panun Kashmir Foundation in a meting here today under the leadership of Dr Shakti Bhan constituted a 11 member organizing Committee for the holding of Sakshaatkar. The Committee will be headed by P N Raina. The other members of the committee are Shailender Aima, S K Kichloo, Yoginder Kandhari, S K Handoo, P N Razdhan, M K Dhar, Sunil Bhat, Sunil Riana, Kundan Lal Koul and J L Raina. The meeting was held to discuss the modalities in organizing the Sakshaatkar an encounter with truth at various places in Jammu as part of the Foundation’s campaign of awareness to dispel darkness and galvanize resistance to forces of exclusion and regression. The meeting decided that the exhibition will be held at three different locations here. The exhibition will start on September 5 and will conclude on September 14 -the day coinciding K P Balidan Divas in form of a P K rally. It said the rally will be dedicated to the supreme sacrifices made by valiant Indians who laid down their lives in defending and upholding the integrity, sovereignty and values of Indian nation in J&K. |

Bhagavan Gopi Nath Trust dispatches relief for Leh victims  Jammu, August 27: In its endure to reach out to people in distress for which the Trust is dedicated, the Bhagavaan Gopi Nath Trust today dispatched essential relief material to the cloudburst victims of Leh (Ladakh).A cargo load of 600 kgs containing blankets, warm clothes and utensils was dispatched by air with the cooperation of District administration and Indian Airlines. As per a release, earlier an amount of INR 21,000 was also donated by the Trust towards the relief fund. The Trust also distributed the clothes and ration among the flood affected Juggi dwellers around Gopinath Vihar, Udaiwala, Migrant Camp at Mishriwala. It also decided to provide the relief material to other migrant camps who have been affected by the floods. |
YAIKS warns agitation against delay in issuance of appointment orders Jammu, August 27: Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) today warned that in case the Government failed to issue the appointment orders in favour of selected KP youth under Prime Minister’s package, issue advertisements for remaining 3000 posts and sanction the package of Rs 25 lakh for over-aged displaced youth by September 10, the organization will be forced to hold demonstration on next day in Jammu.  The YAIKS will intensify its struggle and it will be forced to take its battle to other parts of the country in case the Government continues its lukewarm response to the demands, YAIKS president, R K Bhat, told reporters here this afternoon. Accusing both Central and State Governments of constant neglect towards exiled Pandits, Bhat said if the Government continues to be mute spectator to their plight, the YAIKS will be forced to take the issue in the people’s court in the country by launching a nation-wide campaign. He alleged that KPs have been totally deprived of constitutional guarantees and political empowerment. He said the Government is so callous towards the displaced Pandits that it has failed to enhance the relief more than Rs 250 per soul while the prices have increased over 300 times during last few years. The relief holders are unable to make their body and soul together, he added. Alleging that there was no Government worth the name in J&K he said all successive Governments in State and Centre for last 20 years were responsible for the Pandits plight. The Government should make it clear who will protect the hapless community, he added. Bhat said despite showing their willingness to work in Kashmir Valley the Government is reluctant to issue the orders in view of the disturbances in Kashmir. He demanded that till normalcy is restored in Valley the displaced youth be adjusted in other parts of the State. Ramesh Bhat vice president YAIKS and Beneath Bhat its organizer were also present in the press conference. |
