Anguish
will it bring a change? |
Once again we Indians are on roads to express our anguish on account of rape of one of our girl child. On every nook and corner we are protesting over the shameful act of few individuals. It is no secret that it is an expression of our disgust over the continuous degradation of our social values. Day by day the frequency and the intensity of such protest is increasing. Some time it is on account one aspect of it and the other time it is due to other. But the bottom line is that in spite of all these protests and agitations the things are not improving at all, or we should say they are continuously degrading.
Recent agitation of Anna ji against rampant corruption was by all means the biggest agitation in recent history of our country. In spite of agitation of such massive magnitude nothing came out of it. We are back to square one, perhaps waiting for some fresh episode to come up and we rush to flood our streets. Experience has shown that with the passage of time we will soon forget this episode as well and get busy with our daily routine. But the question is for how long we can continue with such occurrences. Can we really afford to wait till we lose our patience and are forced to indulge in bloodshed in the country of the kind that history has seen against monarchy and is seeing in countries like Syria Egypt etc even now? Wisdom lies that we recognize the possibility of such development and come out with a workable solution before it goes out of hand. People take the present episode as a case of rape, but in my view it is a kind of corruption in our social system. It is well known that it is power that breeds corruption. In our country the politicians are so powerful that they can do all that they wish to, even if it is immoral or against the law of land. It is because of the immense power at their disposal they have become source of corruption. They have slowly and steadily introduced such systems in the governance that they are becoming more and more powerful and our sufferings are increasing accordingly. This exactly was the problem with monarchy system. People were fed up with the unethical approach of ruler toward them. It was only to get rid of such problems the man shunned that system and gave birth to socialism and democracy. In our country, though we too adopted democracy, but the ills of monarchy revisited under the patronage of democracy. To explain this observation let us take clue from present episode. Let us recognize that these days 30% of Delhi police force is engaged in security of our politicians. In addition to it, a sizable portion of rest of this force, especially its senior staff, is engaged in deployment and management of this staff. This way a major portion of this force is busy serving these leaders and their relatives. It is no secret that in many case such security is provided as status symbol to them and many a times used to support their illegal activities. If it is so, then how can we expect this force to do justice to the need of a common man? It is but natural for them to ignore common man’s need and become one like these politicians. This is exactly what is happening these days. Police has become indifferent towards the need of a common man, and in many cases a source of harassment for them. This is how the law and order situation in capital is worsening day by day. Solution to such situation is not condemning or criticizing the police force or asking for new laws, but it is by setting them free from clutches of politicians and putting them under the control of professionals who will judicially address the need of politicians as well as of public. If we analyze our existing national problems, we will find that some way or the other, most of them are creations of our politicians. It is no secret that more than 30% of our law makers are with criminal charges against them. With such environment around at the helm what else can we expect other than repeated rapes, scams and murders in the country. It need not be said that unless we get rid of them, such incidences will keep happening and we continue suffering. Protests and agitations will lead us nowhere. But the question is who will do it and how can he do it. This is definitely a serious and important question. In my opinion this is our educated youth who can do it best and must do it. All that they are to do is to study their history and understand how our great king Shivaji Maharaj managed to dethrone the most powerful empire of that time. Like them, he too was an absolutely weak and insignificant opposition to Mugal ruler. All that he did was that he brought all those, who were against the mogul rulers, together and fought the war along with them. On the same lines our youth is to identify and unite all those organizations and individuals who are fed up with the present governance and are agitating in the country for various causes and on different platforms. They are to explain them how their problems are creation of their present politicians, and how, once these politicians are removed, their problems will get solved on its own. To bring these individuals and organizations together they are to learn from our great leader of pre - independence era Shri Bal Gangadhar ji Tilak who brought whole country together by giving one call that addressed the aspiration of all countrymen i.e ‘Swaraj Mera Janm Siddh Adhikar Hai’. Similarly we are to look for one such call now. In my opinion it can be ‘Politicians Hatavo Desh Bachao’ To make it more effective they can add ‘Proffessionals lavo desh badavo’ Most of our country men are fed up with the present politicians. This call can be a great motivating factor for all of them to unite and work for this common cause. Especially women folk can be big supporter for it. In this note I have specifically suggested our educated youth for the job. It is because A) Unlike poor uneducated class, who are under the obligation of our present politician for last many decades and are day out and day in struggling to meet their end, they can understand and solve the problem better. B) Such move will empower them to decide the future of the country, which at present they are deprived of, as they are convinced that their vote has no value. C) It is only they who, through internet or otherwise, can create a mass movement for the cause and bring in the desire result D) It is they who will be benefited most by its result, as they will be respected in the country which is missing at present and they are forced to go abroad to show their capability. E) It is only they and their children who can reap the benefit of this move. Elders have not much time left for that F) They are the only potential threat to the present politician as their votes are not for sale, as it is in the case of poor uneducated lot. Through this note, I appeal to my young readers to please consider this request and start working on it now. If they need any further explanation/ clarification, I am always at your service. At least they can forward this note among their friend circle. Who knows out of them, we may get one who picks up the cudgel and take the movement ahead. |
