![]() In intense humid conditions the relief holders are struggling for their survival and the government is criminally silent on their existential threat as they are solely dependent on a cash relief of few rupees. Under present conditions even the rich are fed up with the continuous price rise. Employees are given regular Dearing allowances. The salaries and other facilities of MLAs and MLCs have been enhanced. Under this scenario if relief holders are demanding enhancement of cash relief, which is strongly genuine, why they are being neglected’ asked Pt. Kaul. ‘The criminal silence of the government towards the problems of the relief holders is inhuman. How a person can feed his four members dependent on him with a meager amount. Even for survival of a middle class person having such a family it takes thousands. And the fact is that Kashmiri Pandits dependent on mere relief are not home but in exile. They are facing hostile weather conditions. They have no peace because they have no home. And for no fault of theirs they have become refugees in their own country. Exile of Kashmiri Pandits is the worst tragedy of the modern history. Turning deaf ear to the burning problems of them is nothing but a conscious try of multiplying their miseries if their concerns are not looked into’ said Kaul. This is not the political struggle. It is just the case of survival. Right to live is a fundamental right. Do you want to snatch this from them? He asked On one side Kashmiri Pandits are the victims of separatist mindset. State government failed to retain them in Kashmir. India also failed to protect them. The relief should have been given by the state government but it is paid by the centre. When state government is consulted about the enhancement of relief, they say that they have sent the file to the central government and the matter finishes here’ wondered Mr Moti Kaul He also said that Governments knows that with every tickling of the clock, the prices rise. Price rise is one of the few factors on which the plans are formulated. The problems of relief holders as per humanity and morality should have been the top priority of the governing lobbies but shockingly it is otherwise. Pt Kaul assured full support from AIKS to take their concerns to Delhi and asked them not to lose courage. We are all with them and will not rest until their demand is conceded to, said Pt Kaul. Meanwhile Mr. A K Raina, Vice President, AIKS, also guaranteed full support to the relief holders sitting on the dharna at Relief Commissioner’s office and at Jagati. It is not that the relief holders are all alone fighting for the cause but the whole KP community is behind them, he said. Ashwani Hangloo Press Secretary All India Kashmiri Samaj |
